SAR training courses are designed for each groups needs and are typically 3 – 5 days in length. We host private or small groups at our training facility here in Ashton Idaho with lodging included or travel to your location.
This course is designed to each teach handler and dog team to work in rural and urban environments. Typically we start the first 1/2 day with orientation and classroom. The rest of the time is all field work building the foundation of this scent article = this trail = this person. Once the K9 and handler understand and demonstrate basic skills, we incorporate reading the five indicators of trailing behavior and anti-distraction training. Many or our clients book training with us semi-annually and annually to keep new handlers building in the same successful system, and to guide the senior handlers to the next level with their dog and to be the best instructors for the newer team members.
